ISSUES
The issues I feel that are facing Western Travis County are:
Growth ….
Growth is good as long as it is managed well. If Travis County is to continue to grow at it’s current pace. The county does not have the infostructure, to support massive growth at this time. We have to have the road, the water and sewage before you can continue to build massive amounts of residents. Responsible growth will be my goal if elected.

But, there is no will to enforce them. I want to put environmental issues into the equation of controlled development. Before we hand out permits we need to stop and study the impact on the area. We need to review and determine the best way to proceed and have the least amount of damage on the area.

Toll Roads ….
Can’t stand them, toll roads just make my skin crawl to be honest with you. I do not like the fact that you have to continue to pay for a road, that you have already paid for once. I don’t like the fact that TX Dot is trying to change the way we drive around Texas, by making us pay for the roads every time we use them.

I do not like the fact that TX Dot can spend over nine million dollars trying to brain wash us into using their toll roads. People that use the Toll Road know that they are there. Don’t like the fact that people are driving down a road forced on to the toll road with very little warning and are then forced to pay a toll to get off the road. I don’t like the fact that every time you go thru a toll road big brother is watching. Television shows like CSI are already showing you how big brother is monitoring our every movement.

As someone that believes that the government should not be spying on you. I have trouble with toll roads for many reasons.

Authority of Travis County Commissioners Court - to limit or stop subdivision growth.
The council must have control over it’s jurisdiction. It is the community and it’s officers that know best what is needed to protect and improve it’s area. I feel it is imperative that the local council has control over it’s own jurisdiction. Should I be elect I will fight for the authority to control our area be given to the people tha know what is best for the area.

WHY I AM RUNNING

I am running for office because in 2005, I purchased a home in Western Travis County, on an acre and a quarter in a rural neighborhood off RR620 and Storm Drive.

My wife and I and our four dogs, where ran off our property in the Mountain View Subdivision by a developer who does not believe in permits or following the rules. I met Commissioner Doughty for the first time while fighting to get something done to stop this developer from taking control of the whole neighborhood

The issue at that time was how this developer closed several roads and made cul-de-sac’s so he could sell the houses he built that did not meet the deed restrictions for more money.
Realizing that I was in a hopeless battle with a scup less developer and incompetent county department called the TNRC. So, I took the developers money and moved to the home I am currently residing in.

When I moved into this neighborhood it was 90% rural. Several old trailers, one or two really nice homes, and no active HOA. Within a matter of months developers moved in and this time they decided it would be an industrial complex and bars. So once again I started contacting my county authorities and the TNRC and Commissioner Doughty once again I found multiple applications that where filled out falsely.

These applications stated that the permit was issued for a single family dwelling or an RV park. But, what you find on these properties is that a rich property owner living in Lake way in a million dollar house overlooking the lake. Builds a 20x20 steel building calling it a single family dwelling.
The eight slot rv park is really Lost Parrot Cabins, a luxury resort. It does not resemble the original application in anyway. These are just two examples of many cases in my neighborhood since 2005.

I know that I can do a better job from what I have witnessed from our eleticed officials. I know what I have gone thru dealing with my county officials within the last three years.

Why an independent candidate

I will not be a Republican. I just can’t go there. There are already 2 Democrat’s and I do not want to be the third and lets face it the two parties are at stale mate. I truly feel it is time for a 3rd party or independent candidates like myself. To shake things up and keep the system working. As an independent I owe no one any allegiants the only responsibility that I have is to the voters that put me in office. As it should be in government.
